OK. For those of you who haven't figured that we live an odd life here, I will repeat that we truly live in the middle of a Florida Water Management Area (AKA: Swamp) where we receive no amenities like mail, paved roads, school buses (another funny topic as they PAY me to take my kids to school, lol, I'm giving up a PAYCHECK by homeschooling.), or trash pick up. Anyhoo, the reason I bring this up is my spouse taught our oldest a new skill! (He's a James-of-all Trades) As we don't get trash pick-up, nor a convenient way to dispose of trash, we seperate our trash by two catagories: Burnable vs Non-burnable. (Then we recycle the non-burnable.) So for burning the trash and having nothing left but ashes (and not much of them) you want a hot fire. So my spouse came up with a way to weld two barrels together so that you can obtain the extra hot heat to dispose of the trash throughly. Every so often we need to replace the barrels which allowed Caylee to have her first real welding job!Caylee learned how to use the cutting torch to remove the ends of the barrels, then she learned how to weld the barrels together. She did a great job!
Caylee stands behind her work.
